Glorious History and Brilliant Future ahead
Uzbekistan, (officially the Republic of) is located in Central Asia. It is surrounded by five landlocked countries: Kazakhstan to the north; Kyrgyzstan to the northeast; Tajikistan to the Southeast; Afghanistan to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southwest. Its capital and largest city is Tashkent. Uzbekistan is part of the Turkic world. The country speaks most Uzbek language; while Russian is widely spoken and understood throughout the country. However, Tajik is also spoken as a minority language, predominantly in Samarkand and Bukhara. Moreover, Islam is the predominant religion in the territory, with most Uzbeks being Sunni Muslims.
Uzbekistan is a secular state, with a presidential constitutional government in place. The country comprises 12 regions (vilayats); while Tashkent City is an autonomous republic. As of 2022, Uzbekistan had a population of a bit over 36 million inhabitants.
One of the particularities of the country is that most of its glorious ancient cities managed to preserve the beauty and spirit of the ancient historical era; while harmoniously combine them with the exigencies and needs of modern life.
